I created a series of illustrations for a Dialogue Earth article about a proposed 4,000-kilometer railway connecting Brazil’s Atlantic coast to Peru’s Pacific coast. The initiative aims to establish a new trade route between South America and China, facilitating the transportation of commodities while raising questions about its economic feasibility and environmental impact.
The illustrations explore the geographical and environmental dimensions of this megaproject, depicting the diverse landscapes of South America, from the Amazon rainforest to the Andes. The work seeks to visually translate the complex relationship between infrastructure, economic expansion, and the preservation of ecosystems and Indigenous territories.
